Gene Simmons Unveils Custom Snakebit 1956 Ford F-100 at SEMA
As the face-painted bassist for KISS, Gene Simmons and his wife, former Playmate of the Year/actress Shannon Tweed, are used to being the center of attention. However, when they unveiled the custom Snakebit 1956 Ford F-100 at the 2013 SEMA Show in Las Vegas last week, all eyes were planted squarely on the one-of-a-kind truck.
The Snakebit moniker serves as a tribute to the great Shelby Mustangs that provided the inspiration for the customization of the 1956 F-100. You may be wondering what monster of an engine could power the fusion of F-Series’ rugged performance with Shelby Mustang’s storied racing DNA. Ford was sure not to disappoint.
The Snakebit 1956 Ford F-100 is a massive 5.4-liter V8 that pumps out an immense 550 horsepower. That’s at least enough energy to power at least a few minutes of an over-the-top, pyrotechnics-friendly KISS concert.
If the silver-on-silver custom paint job and near gaudy output figures alone have you drooling over the Snakebit 1956 Ford F-100, you could potentially have your chance to own it; you just have to be the highest bidder. The Snakebit will be auctioned next year by Barrett-Jackson, and all the proceeds will help to build a children’s hospital in Tweed’s hometown of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan in Canada thanks to the Wheels of Dreams project.
“The Wheels of Dreams project symbolizes how people can come together to meet the needs of our children and families by raising much needed funds for the new Children’s Hospital of Saskatchewan,” said Brynn Boback-Lane, president and CEO of the Children’s Hospital Foundation of Saskatchewan, in a press release.
“Just like the hospital, this concept car project started as an idea and a desire to do something better for our community.”
Do you have enough scratch to pony up for the Snakebit 1956 Ford F-150?
