General Motors China was recently given Top Employer China 2016 Certification from the Top Employers Institute of China. In order to receive certification, an employer must have exceptional employment standards and work environment that foster the talents of employees and benefit the company on the whole.

GM China earned high marks for talent development, development initiatives, networking, and programs focused on personal well-being.

“It is an honor for our company to be recognized,” said Robert Treme, director of Human Resources for GM China. “GM has become an automotive industry leader in China by making the personal and professional growth of our employees a priority.”

GM’s success can be attributed to the 2010 identification of seven different areas that would result in the most harmonious environment for employees: Commitment, Teamwork, Trust, Personal and Professional Growth, Recognition, Fairness, and Health and Well Being.

“The many actions taken have been well received,” Treme added. “GM China continues listening to our employees and acting on their suggestions to support the ongoing expansion and excellence of our business.”
