General Motors de México Socially Responsible Company Award

General Motors de México in May won its third consecutive Socially Responsible Company award from the Mexican Center for Philanthropy and Alliance for Corporate Social Responsibility. GM earned the award for its various environmental, educational, and community outreach efforts over the past year.

“General Motors has had a strong commitment to Mexico for 81 years, so all our actions focus on contributing in some way to the economic and social development of this country,” said Teresa Cid, Director of Communications and Public Relations, GM of Mexico. “For example, in 2016, we were able to support more than 52,000 people through the Cheyenne Brigade, boost education among more than 4,600 young people, promote timely detection of breast cancer in vulnerable communities, and strengthen environmental care environment.”
