General Motors Was Canada’s Best-Selling Brand in October Thanks To Growth Across All Brands

General Motors Canada took the top spot for retail and total sales in October on the strength of gains across the board from its Chevrolet, Buick, GMC, and Cadillac brands. Total sales were up 26.5% at 26,847 vehicles delivered, and retail sales were up 28.9% at 21,398 vehicles.

“Month after month we are seeing success across all our brands, led by our dynamic portfolio of crossovers, mid- and full-sized trucks, and industry-leading electric vehicles,” said John Roth, vice president, sales, service, and marketing. “Great value, style, technology, form, and function have customers visiting our dealerships and taking delivery of just the right vehicle for them.”

Chevrolet sales totaled 14,371 vehicles, up 20.9% year-over-year. The bowtie brand was led by sales of the Silverado, which were up 59% at a total of 5,146 trucks delivered. Sales of the Colorado were also strong, rising 32.2% to 772 vehicles delivered, and Tahoe sales increased 149.5%.

Buick sales increased 29.2% to 2,273 vehicles delivered. Sales of the Enclave, Envision, LaCrosse, and Regal all increased by triple digits, and sales of the Encore increased 63.3% to 1,022 vehicles.

GMC sales were up 35.4% at 8,941 vehicles; sales of the Sierra totaled 5,166 units, up 32.8% year-over-year. Acadia continued its forward momentum with an 81.5% year-over-year increase, and Canyon sales rose 59.4%. A 36.1% year-over-year increase gave GMC retail sales of 6,763 vehicles, good for the brand’s best October retail performance ever.

Led by the XT5, Cadillac posted a 30.5% year-over-year increase with 1,262 vehicles sold. Escalade sales were up 51.5% for the month, Escalade ESV sales were up 62%, and XTS sales increased 167.7%.

Through 10 months, GM Canada’s sales are up 17.6% with 259,413 vehicles delivered.
