Ford Expedition gifted to Houston pastor

Ford Motor Company, in an effort to make things a bit easier on someone who gives back a great deal to his community, recently bestowed the gift of a brand-new Ford Expedition upon one Pastor Develron Walker of Houston.

Walker lost his SUV in Hurricane Harvey this past August; the storm also caused considerable damage to his church, Towers of Hope Church of God in Christ, which is as yet unusable. Ford hopes that with the new Expedition, which Walker received last month at Kentucky Truck Plant at the production kick-off celebration, will make his work of giving back to the community easier in trying days ahead.

“Even while facing extremely tough circumstances, Pastor Walker has shown his relentless commitment to helping those in his community, and we hope the Expedition will help him go further with his ministry as they rebuild,” said Joe Hinrichs, Ford president, Global Operations, who handed the keys over to Walker at the ceremony.

“The all-new Expedition is more than a shuttle bus or cargo carrier,” Hinrichs added. “It’s bigger on the inside, offers the latest driver-assist technologies and can keep everyone connected with an available Wi-Fi hotspot, plus USB chargers or power outlets for all three rows.”

Walker also took a tour of Kentucky Truck Plant, which recently concluded a $900 million renovation to support production of the Expedition and the all-new 2018 Lincoln Navigator.
