“We can look back on a very successful first six months of 2014 – despite sometimes volatile economic conditions and highly different trends on individual automotive markets,” said Bernhard Maier, Member of the Executive Board Sales and Marketing of Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG. “With our present model line-up we are well positioned to face current challenges. In the second half of the year, we will keep our foot on the accelerator with the world-wide launch of the Macan and other model innovations.”

Global Porsche sales in June soared on the strength of outstanding performances in Europe and the Americas. European deliveries were up 30.4 percent with 6,136 units sold, and American sales were up 14 percent with 4,934 units sold.

More than a third of all Porsche sales in Europe stemmed from the automaker’s homeland of Germany, where 2,481 Porsches sold in June.

Nearly all American Porsche sales came from the United States, where 4,102 Porsches sold last month.

To date, global Porsche sales are up 13.9 percent in Europe; up 7.5 percent in Germany; up 7.2 percent in America; up 7.6 percent in the United States; up 8 percent in China; and up 2.6 percent in all other markets combined.

Porsche says that its best-selling model through the first six months has been the Cayenne at 37,200 units, which accounts for more than 42 percent of all Porsche sales.
