GM Announces Two Deputy General Counsel Appointments
General Motors announced on Tuesday that Ann Cathcart Chaplin has been appointed its Deputy General Counsel for Litigation, effective December 14th. It was also announced that Jeffrey A. Taylor joins GM as its Deputy General Counsel for Federal Oversight, effective November 1st. Both Cathcart Chaplin and Taylor will report to Craig Glidden, executive vice president and general counsel for General Motors.

Cathcart Chaplin will lead general and product litigation for GM moving forward. She is currently the Litigation Practice Group Leader at Fish & Richardson, where she oversees 245 lawyers in 12 global offices.
“Ann is a great addition to our team. She is an experienced trial lawyer, an exceptional leader, and her work in litigation project management has been innovative,” said Glidden. “Having her expertise at GM will be an incredible asset as we manage complex legal issues, and deploy advanced technology to transform our vehicles and the way we manage the business.”
Taylor will work with the federal monitor appointed by the US Attorney’s Office as part of GM’s Deferred Prosecution Agreement to address policies and procedures related to recalls. Taylor is currently the vice president and general counsel of Raytheon Integrated Defense Systems, and he served as an assistant US attorney, senior advisor to Attorneys General John D. Ashcroft and Alberto R. Gonzales for fifteen years.
