GM Arlington is poised to kick off its Community Grant corporate giving event on October 5th from 11am to 12pm at the Arlington Assembly Plant located on 2525 E Abram St. During the event, GM Arlington will provide $100,000 in grants to seven local organizations that advance STEM education and connect youth with the resources they need to pursue higher education.

This year’s seven grant recipients include the following entities: River Legacy Foundation, Arlington ISD Educational Foundation, Junior Achievement of the Chisholm Trail, International American Education Foundation, Mansfield ISD Foundation, University Crossroads, and United Way of Tarrant County.
These organizations are definitely grateful for the magnanimous gesture of GM Arlington. Debbie Vernon, director of education at River Legacy Living Center, expressed thanks on behalf of her team, “We are delighted with the support we have received from General Motors. These students are at an age where they are starting to develop a social consciousness, so it’s a perfect time to reach them and help them discover how they can be agents of change in their communities.”
Juan Carlos Jimenez, plant manager of GM Arlington Assembly, articulates the dealership’s motive for investing in STEM initiatives, “The rising generation is truly the future of our industry. These community-focused grants are our way to invest in these young minds who are going to change the way our business runs in the future.”
We commend GM for its corporate thoughtfulness in contributing to STEM endeavors. For those in the Arlington area, be sure to mark your calendar for October 5th to take part in this noteworthy event.
