GM Canada Sales Increase 2% in September

General Motors Canada reported sales of 25,466 vehicles in September, a year-over-year increase of 2%. Retail sales were up 3.6% at 20,537 vehicles delivered, and fleet sales declined 4% at 4,929 units.

“Remaining focused on our retail strategy is driving growth, and our product line-up has never been stronger,” said John Roth, vice president, sales, service and marketing for GM Canada. “Our year of nine launches continues this Fall with the arrival of the Chevrolet Cruze Hatchback, GMC Acadia, and Cadillac CT6—now at dealerships.”

Chevrolet brand sales were up 5.2% at 14,717 units, good for its best September sales since 2007. Sales of the Camaro were up 104.8% at 258 units, Colorado sales were up 58.1% at 626 units, sales of the Cruze were up 2% at 2,929 units, sales of the Malibu were up 83.5% at 1,554 units, sales of the Spark were up 596 units, and sales of the Volt were up 446 units.

GMC sales were down 1.6% at 7,807 units. Sales of the Canyon were up 39% at 524 units, sales of the Yukon were up 102.4% at 332 units, and sales of the Yukon XL were up 17.1% at 219 units.

Buick sales were down 10% at 1,678 units. Sales of the Encore increased 5.2% with 470 units, sales of the Enclave increased 6.8% with 252 units, and sales of the Envision totaled 256 units. Total SUV sales were up 43%.

Cadillac posted its best September sales total ever with 1,264 units, up 7.85%. Sales of the XT5 totaled 400 units, sales of the CT6 totaled 23 units, sales of the XTS increased 39.8% at 172 units, sales of the Escalade ESV were up 102.4% at 83 units, and sales of the CTS were up 67.2% at 97 units.
