Cadillac has revealed pricing information for its CT6 Plug-In Hybrid sedan for the Chinese market, and it will cost more than the version sold in the United States, despite the fact the car is actually being produced in China.

The CT6 Plug-In has been priced between RMB 558,800 ($80,408) and RMB 658,800 ($94,366) in the People’s Republic. In comparison, the CT6 Plug-In will carry a starting MSRP of $76,090 in the United States and that’s not including the potential tax breaks that come with buying green vehicles in the US.

Both the Chinese and US versions of the CT6 Plug-In will receive power from the same combination of a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine, along with two additional electric motors that are integrated into the CT6’s electric drive system. This advanced powertrain provides 335 horsepower, 432 lb-ft of torque, and an all-electric driving range of 80 kilometers.

Cadillac will also be offering a 220V charger with free installation to anyone who purchases the new CT6 Plug-In in China. With this powerful charger, the CT6 Plug-In can be fully charged in as little as five hours. In addition, SAIC-GM is offering an eight-year unlimited-mileage warranty for this Cadillac’s electronic control system, battery pack, and electric motors.

The Cadillac CT6 Plug-In will also come with three distinct driving modes. The Cruise mode maximizes energy efficiency, while the Hold option has been described in a GM China press release as being “especially useful for long-distance highway driving.” However, if it’s top performance that you’re looking for, the Sport mode offers the best combination of aggressive gas pedal response and agile handling.

Every 2017 Cadillac CT6 Plug-In will be built inside of China’s borders because GM is eligible for certain incentives for building green vehicles in the country. Those cars will then be exported and sold in other countries.

In the US, the Cadillac CT6 Plug-In is scheduled to debut in the spring of 2017.
