GM’s December 2014 sales were positively enormous, totaling 274,483 deliveries and marking the best December sales mark in seven years. As with most end-of-year pushes, General Motors’ pickup trucks were huge movers, making up nearly one-third of all retail and fleet sales in December.

“Chevrolet was strong in every segment of the market, from pickups and SUVs to cars and crossovers. Buick and GMC also had strong sales across the board, and our growth far outpaced the industry average,” said Kurt McNeil, U.S. vice president of Sales Operations. “Everything you need to have a great month was in place: Consumers felt good about the direction of the economy, interest rates and fuel prices were low, and our dealers did a great job introducing customers to our incredible range of new and redesigned vehicles.”

Nearly every General Motors brand experienced double-digit growth in the last month of the year. Chevrolet was up big with 184,938 deliveries—a 20.5% year-over-year improvement. GMC was up 23% with 53,038 deliveries, and Buick was up 32.4% with 20,357 deliveries. Cadillac added 16,150 deliveries, falling 11.1% year-over-year.

General Motors’ biggest sellers in December were the Chevrolet Silverado (57,837 units), GMC Sierra (23,436 units), Chevrolet Equinox (21,298 units), Chevrolet Malibu (16,817 units), Chevrolet Tahoe (11,259 units), and GMC Terrain (11,032 units).
