GM Educator Discount Program Launched Yesterday
It’s common knowledge that our teachers don’t get enough credit—or enough cash. We trust them with a large portion of the upbringing and the education of our children, who will one day make all the world’s decisions, yet we do nothing but criticize their faults and vote to pay them less. General Motors, however, is taking a stand for educators across the country with the GM Educator Discount program, which launched yesterday.
While GM did not specify an exact discount, the automaker did call it “significant.” The discount will be available for the purchase or lease of an all-new 2015 or 2014 Chevy, Buick, or GMC vehicle. Unfortunately, the offer won’t be made available for Cadillacs, the Spark EV, or the Camaro Z/28, though how a teacher could afford even a discounted Z/28 is beyond us.
The GM Educator Discount program began yesterday, July 1, 2014, and will run through January 2, 2015.
To be eligible for the GM Educator Discount program, a shopper must work at a public or private school, university, or college.
