The first three quarters of 2015 have been kind to General Motors. After nine months, GMs brands around the globe have combined to sell 7.2 million vehicles, a mark made possible by sales increases in four of its five largest markets. Despite an overall 1% decline in sales, General Motors is on pace for a year of considerable growth, both in terms of laying groundwork for the future and in satisfying customers in the present.

“Our unwavering focus on the customer is paying off in our largest and most important markets as we execute one successful launch after another in the right segments,” said GM President Dan Ammann. “At the same time, we have reacted quickly to challenging macroeconomic environments in other markets and have shown the discipline to exit situations where we see no long-term path to acceptable returns.”

Among GM’s proudest accomplishments through September: truck sales in North America have risen 16%, sales of Chevy trucks and crossovers have each risen 17%, GMC’s global sales are up 11% and carry the highest average transaction prices in their respective segments, and both Buick and Cadillac have experienced record growth in China.
