General Motors Korea Company delivered a record total of 17,236 vehicles domestically and another 35,806 for export in November, bringing cumulative sales to 53,042 vehicles for the month. GM Korea’s record month at retail reflects a 50.6% year-over-year sales increase, led by gains for the Chevy Malibu, Chevy Trax, Chevy Spark, and Chevy Aveo.

“GM Korea has enjoyed its best sales performance ever this year. We have received a strong reaction to our products, especially the Spark, Malibu, and Trax,” said Dale Sullivan, GM Korea vice president of Vehicle Sales, Service and Marketing. “We expect the positive sales to continue as we close out the year with the support of our competitive products and aggressive marketing campaign.”

Sales of the Malibu rose 389.3% in November with deliveries totaling 4,149 units, bringing sales across the 30,000-unit mark and continuing its dominance of the gasoline-powered midsize sedan segment. Sales of the Trax rose 124.5% with 2,505 units sold, boosted by the recent launch of the updated model. Sales of the Spark rose 46.1% with 6,533 units sold, bringing its cumulative sales total for 2016 to 70,956 units. Sales of the Aveo were up 60.4%, and deliveries of the new Camaro SS totaled 149 units.

Chevy’s commercial offerings, the Damas and Labo, combined for 1,030 units delivered, up 14.6% year-over-year.

With 11 months in the books, GM Korea’s total sales have reached 542,884 units—including 161,962 vehicles sold domestically and 380,922 vehicles exported to international markets.
