General Motors Middle East is reporting a significant boost in June for sales of its Chevrolet, Cadillac, and GMC product lineups. Spurred on by the holiday of Ramadan, GM reported a 21% year-over-year sales gain over June 2014.

“Even though Ramadan is not yet over, we’re already seeing a marked increase in sales. We attribute this to the fact that our customers have greater access to options to finance new vehicles,” said GM Africa and Middle East President and Managing Director, Mario A. Spangenberg.

“During the holy month, our dealers have been offering attractive Ramadan discounts, some of which are only available in the showrooms, as well as 0% finance options,” he added. “The competitive, convenient and transparent aftersales packages we offer customers when they purchase a new car is also a key factor in driving more sales.”

Overall, Chevrolet sales were up 11%; GMC sales were up 33%; and Cadillac sales were up 127% throughout the Middle East. GM reports that the UAE was the biggest area of growth with a 61% sales increase, followed by Oman with a 59% sales increase and Qatar with a 36% sales increase.

GM Middle East does not make individual model sales figures available, nor has it made available any indication as to how sales are through the midway point of the year.
