GM today reported total sales of 22,836 vehicles in Canada during July, down from 23,973 vehicles sold in the same month the year prior. To date, General Motors’ sales in Canada total 150,051 vehicles, up 5.2% from the 142,621 vehicles sold through the first seven months of 2014.

“While July sales slowed slightly after a particularly strong June, we continue to see growing strength in our brands and products with our overall sales up 5% for the calendar year to date,” said GM Canada Vice President of Sales, Service, and Marketing John Roth. “Driving these results in the highly competitive pickup truck segment, the GMC Canyon, Sierra, and Sierra HD are experiencing calendar year to date growth of 23%.”

GMC was up slightly with 7,493 vehicles delivered in July, riding a wave of interest in its midsize, light duty, and heavy duty pickup trucks. Buick increased sales of its crossovers by 9% with continued growth for both the Enclave (up 18%) and Encore (up 4%). Cadillac’s SUVs were up 12% thanks to the Escalade (up 10%) and SRX (up 12%), and Chevrolet saw increases for models including the Cruze (up 4%), Corvette (up 20%), and Volt (up 14%).
