GM Sales Up 2% in Canada in September
General Motors of Canada reported that sales of Chevrolet, Buick, GMC, and Cadillac vehicles combined for a grand total of 24,960 units in September a 2% year over year increase. Cumulatively, GM sales in Canada are up 5.5%.
“Our sales growth continues to be led by Canadians’ love of our Chevrolet and GMC pickup trucks, which were up 15% in September, while our Cadillac sales increased 35%,” said John Roth, VP of Sales, Service, and Marketing, GM Canada.
Highlights for Chevrolet include a 39% increase from Impala, 48% increase for Corvette, 19% increase for Equinox and Traverse, and a 222% increase for Equinox.
For Buick, Regal and Verano sales were up 12% and 9%, respectively. GMC sales were up 5% thanks to pickups such as the Canyon and Sierra. GMC’s pickups were up 18% overall. Cadillac experienced a 35% year-over-year sales increase in September thanks to a 47% sales jump from the SRX, 50% increase from Escalade, 21% increase from ATS, and 162% increase from ATS.
Through nine months, GM of Canada’s sales are up 5.5% with 199,664 units delivered.
