GM Trademarks Enspire, Envision Names for Buick
GM trademarks: they happen frequently, and you no doubt love to hear about them. The latest on the slate: applications for the “Enspire” and “Envision.”
Now, we know well enough about the Envision: it’s the compact crossover that Buick released last year in China, likely to join the lineup above the Encore and below the Enclave. It’s been a hit overseas, and given the market’s tendencies toward crossovers and the fact that the Encore has largely been Buick’s consistent star in 2015, it’s only natural that it would find its way to America.
The Enspire, however, is a completely new (and misspelled) name. GM Authority surmises that the Enspire could well be a mid-size crossover that will sit between the Envision and Enclave, giving Buick a four-crossover attack that will give the brand a considerable leg-up against its competition. We think they’ve hit the nail right on the head.
As ever, the mere filing of trademark application means little in and of itself, but this seems like a particularly logical move. Stay tuned for more developments as they happen.
