GM Trademarks “Silverado Big Sky” Name
GM Authority is reporting that on February 9th , 2015, General Motors registered the term “Silverado Big Sky” with the US Patent and Trademark Office.
The filing states that the name will be used for “motor land vehicles, namely, trucks.”
It doesn’t take Carnac the Magnificent to predict that a new Chevy Silverado variant is on its way. It would be nice, though, if Carnac (or perhaps Trucknac) could divine exactly what makes the apparently forthcoming Silverado Big Sky edition unique.
Could the “Big Sky” part of the name refer to a moonroof? Or, perhaps, to some sort of off-roading capabilities that might make it suitable for adventuring in the snowy mountains of Big Sky, Montana? Or could it be a more urban truck, named for its ability to comfortably transport city dwellers to the Big Sky Buckhead restaurant in Atlanta for 60 cent wings every Thursday night? Or, could it possibly refer to one of the other things that came up when we googled the words “Big Sky?”
For now, we’ll just have to wait and see.
