General Motors is pitching in on efforts to beautify Osborn, Michigan this week with the help of 3,700 of its finest volunteers. GM will be bringing a record number of employees from its four campuses across southeastern Michigan in order to cover about 40% of the work required for this year’s Life Remodeled project.

GM’s volunteers will be joined by students from area schools as well as by construction and landscaping suppliers who will provide equipment such as tree chippers and front-end loaders.

“It means a lot that our suppliers are working alongside teamGMCares volunteers, using their expertise to help make a difference to help bring back a community that has had a rough time for many years,” said Mark Reuss, executive vice president of GM Global Product Development, Purchasing and Supply Chain.

Tasks that will be undertaken include deep-cleaning Osborn High School, boarding up vacated residences, whacking weeds, mowing lawns, and various other activities geared toward the idea of beautification. To handle the job, Roncelli Inc. from Sterling Heights will provide two 30-yard capacity dumpsters to haul away debris and detritus.
