GMC Canyon Muscles the 88th Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade
GMC has been towing the floats at the Macy’s Parade for 34 years. At the 88th Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade tomorrow morning, the all-new GMC Canyon will be joining the 54 other GMC trucks to pull this year’s creations.

The parade takes the trucks, floats, performers, and monstrous balloons along a 2.5 mile route through New York City, along Central Park and down Sixth Avenue.
“With the strength to pull the Macy’s Parade’s large floats, the new GMC Canyon demonstrates its segment-leading capabilities are perfectly suited for the season,” commented Duncan Aldred, the vice president of GMC Sales and Marketing.
Though smaller than, say, the Sierra 1500, the GMC Canyon is well-suited to some good, old-fashioned float tugging. It’s powered by a standard 2.5-liter I4 engine, good for 200 horsepower and 27 mpg (or the available 3.6-liter V6 that lays out 305 horsepower and yields 26 mpg). Most importantly (at least where the 88th Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade is concerned), the Canyon can tow up to 7,000 pounds.
