GMC designers have shortened the 2017 Acadia’s wheelbase by 6.4 inches to 112.5 inches overall. Also, the total length of the new Acadia has been reduced by 7.2 inches, giving it a total length of 193.6 inches. Furthermore, the weight of the 2017 GMC Acadia has been reduced to 3,956 pounds, meaning it weighs 700 pounds less than its previous model.

The new mid-size Acadia will offer two engine options. The standard engine will be a 2.5-liter four-cylinder good for 194 horsepower and 190 lb-ft of torque. For those in need of more power, a 3.6-liter V6 engine is also available, which pumps out 310 horsepower and 271 lb-ft of torque. Both engines are matched with a six-speed automatic transmission. Consumers have the choice between all-wheel and front-wheel drive.
