GMC Gets Big Sales Boost in February from Acadia, Canyon

GMC saw sales leap significantly in February, with overall numbers climbing 17.2% to a total of 46,339 vehicles delivered, and retail sales increasing 15.6% at 38,417 vehicles delivered. Retail deliveries were the best GMC has enjoyed in the month of February since 2002, and growth was driven by an 18% increase for trucks and 15% increase for crossovers.

Overall, every vehicle in GMC’s current lineup saw year-over-year increases, and every model excluding the Terrain saw double-digit increases. The Sierra led the pack with sales totaling 17,618 units, up 15.9% year-over-year. Sales of the Acadia were up 25.9% at 8,781 units, sales of the Terrain were up 6.7% at 8,783 units, sales of the Yukon increased 22.6% at 3,707 units, sales of the Yukon XL increased 15.3% at 2,629 units, sales of the Canyon increased 22% at 2,978 units, and sales of the Savana increased 33.6% at 1,843 units.

Retail-wise, Canyon sales were up 21%, Sierra sales were up 19%, Acadia sales were up 22%, and Terrain sales were up 8%. What’s more, Denali penetration was at an all-time high for the month of February at 26% of all retail sales.

Total GMC sales after two months amount to 83,663 units, up 9.4% from last year. Save for the Terrain (down 12%), every vehicle in GMC’s lineup has seen year-over-year growth thus far. Sierra sales are down 6% at 31,350 units, Acadia sales are up 43.1% at 17,680 units, Yukon sales are up 21.4% at 6,787 units, Yukon XL sales are up 10.1% at 4,707 units, Canyon sales are up 6.9% at 65,037 units, and Savana sales are up 6.9% at 3,078 units.
