For the third year in a row, the GMC division of General Motors was honored as the Most Ideal Popular Brand in the AutoPacific Ideal Vehicle Awards (IVAs).

GMC was one of only two auto brands to have three of its vehicles lead its respective segments. The Yukon/Yukon XL ranked the best in the Large SUV category, while the Acadia and Sierra took top honors in the Large Crossover SUV and Light Duty Pickup segments, respectively.

The winners in each category of the Ideal Awards are determined via survey results of more than 65,000 people, who’ve recently purchased a 2015 or 2016 model year car, truck, SUV, or crossover. After they’ve owned the new model for 90 days, they’re asked to fill out a survey regarding their feelings toward the new automobile. Each owner is asked questions about what they’d like to see changed about the vehicle, with attention being paid to factors such as safety features, technology, performance, and storage.

“The results demonstrate we are succeeding in our mission to provide our customers with a premium ownership experience,” said Vice President of GMC Duncan Aldred. “We are blending precision design, technology and capability throughout our lineup. When you add our luxury-focused Denali portfolio, which makes up nearly 25 percent of GMC sales, we are setting ourselves apart from our competitors.”

In total, the General Motors Company won eight first-place trophies in the 2016 AutoPacific Ideal Vehicle Awards. Other winning GM vehicles were the Chevrolet Corvette (Sports Cars), Cadillac Escalade (Luxury SUV), Chevrolet Volt (Premium Compact Car), and Chevrolet Colorado (Compact Pickup).
