GMC Sales Rise 1.4% in July Thanks to Sierra, Acadia, Canyon
GMC sales in the United States were up 1.4% in July with 48,777 vehicles delivered during the month. Retail sales totaled 43,492, good for an increase of 14.6%.
GMC’s biggest heavy-hitter, the Sierra pickup, was up 13.3% with deliveries totaling 19,808 units. To date, sales of the Sierra have increased 9% with a total of 120,658 units sold. The Acadia surged 31.8% with sales of 10,671 units, bringing its year-to-date total to 59,726 units sold.
The Canyon mid-size pickup once again had a strong month with 2,564 trucks sold throughout the month. After seven months, sales of the Canyon total 17,671 units. Sales of the Terrain, Yukon, and Yukon XL all fell during the month, with sales of 8,813 units, 3,551 units, and 2,299 units, respectively. While the Terrain is ahead nearly 3% to-date, the Yukon and Yukon XL are a respective 5.2% and 4.3% off the previous year’s pace through July.
Overall, GMC’s sales in the United States total 313,490 units sold, up 11.8% from the 280,452 vehicle delivered through July 2014.
