GMC Sales Up 24% in September; Acadia Sees Best September Sales Ever

GMC sales were up 23.8% in the United States in September. Retail sales totaled 40,991 units in its 20th consecutive month of growth, and commercial sales totaled 6,395, bringing the cumulative number of GMC trucks, SUVs, and vans sold in September to 47,386 units.

Apart from the Savana and Canyon, every vehicle in GMC’s current lineup posted a year-over-year sales gain in September. The Acadia posted its best September ever with 6,647 units sold and a 4% year-over-year gain.

Sierra led GMC sales from a volume perspective with 19,754 units, up 17.8%. Terrain was up 31.6% with 10,935 units sold, Yukon was up 22.8% with 3,963 units sold, and the Yukon XL was up 39.8% with 3,027 units sold. Sales of the Canyon were strong with 2,332 units, and the Savana was down 48.1% with 728 units sold.

Through three-quarters of 2015, Acadia sales are up 18.1%, Sierra sales are up 9.8%, and Terrain sales are up 5%. The all-new Canyon is also well on its way to a benchmark first full year of sales with 22,426 units sold, and the Yukon and Yukon XL have combined for more than 50,000 units sold.

Overall, GMC sales through September total 410,239 vehicles, up 12% to-date.
