GMC Will Still Offer First-Generation Acadia for 2017 Model Year
The GMC brand made a bold move this year when it announced the 2017 Acadia would be sold as a mid-size crossover, rather than a full-size CUV like it’s been the previous eight years, but GMC has recently revealed the first-generation version will still be offered for the 2017 model year alongside the new second-generation Acadia.
Safe Driving: Follow these tips and you can avoid drowsy driving
The first-generation model will be called the 2017 GMC Acadia Limited and it will be available in either front-wheel or all-wheel drive. New standard equipment for the 2017 Acadia Limited includes 20-inch chrome-clad aluminum wheels, forward collision alert, lane departure warning, head-up display, HID projected low beam headlights, and a color touch navigation radio with IntelliLink.
The only available engine for the Acadia Limited is a 3.6-liter V6 rated at 281 horsepower and 266 lb-ft of torque. That engine will be matched with a six-speed automatic transmission and the Acadia Limited will feature a 5,200 pound maximum towing capacity.
While the new second-generation Acadia uses GM’s C1XX platform, the Acadia Limited will be using the older Lambda platform. There is a 700 pound difference between the two vehicles and the smaller second-generation model carries a starting MSRP of $29,995, which is approximately $1,905 less than the 2016 Acadia.
Other standard features for the 2017 Acadia Limited include a rear vision camera, remote keyless entry, and OnStar 4G LTE with built-in Wi-Fi hotspot.
Exterior color options for the Acadia Limited include Crimson Red Tintcoat, Dark Sapphire Blue Metallic, and White Frost Tricoat.
Pricing has yet to be announced for the 2017 GMC Acadia Limited, but remember to check back with The News Wheel for any future updates.
