Maven car sharing service launches in Los Angeles

General Motors is continuing to roll out its personal mobility brand Maven to new markets, and today expanded its services in Atlanta to now include Maven City car sharing, in addition to the Lyft Express Drive program.

Maven has now launched three products and expanded to 17 cities in the US and Canada over the past 11 months. Locations include Atlanta; Ann Arbor, Michigan; Baltimore; Boston; Chicago; Denver; Detroit; Los Angeles; Jersey City, New Jersey; Nashville, Tennessee; New York City; Orlando, Florida; Phoenix; San Diego; San Francisco; Washington, DC; and Waterloo, Ontario, Canada.

During that same time, over 20,000 members have joined Maven and traveled more than 57 million miles in Maven vehicles.

In Atlanta, hourly rates for the Maven City program will begin at $8 (including gas and insurance), and require no membership or application fees.

Registered members can use the Maven app to reserve one of 50 vehicles at more than 20 locations throughout the city, including areas including Ponce City Market, Midtown, West Midtown, Downtown, Old Fourth Ward, Virginia-Highland, East Atlanta Village and Inman Park.

“With cars right around the corner in Atlanta’s most walkable neighborhoods, there is now a Maven vehicle to meet the many different lifestyle needs of people living in the city,” said Julia Steyn, vice president of General Motors Urban Mobility and Maven. “Atlanta’s commitment to urban mobility solutions makes it a great choice as the next Maven City car-sharing market.”

Among the Chevrolet vehicles available to Maven users are models such as the Chevy Cruze and Cruze Hatchback, Malibu, Tahoe, and Volt. Popular GMC offerings include the Acadia and Yukon, and Cadillacs such as the ATS and Escalade are available, as well.
