Chevrolet Silverado Special Ops concept

Chevrolet has brought many cool new concept vehicles to the 2015 SEMA Show, like the Kid Rock Chevy Silverado with its acid-washed seats. The Chevrolet Silverado Special Ops Concept joins that rock-and-roll ride on the SEMA floor. It is built from the Silverado 1500 Z71, and takes most of its design cues from the US Navy. The truck’s updated front design fits in perfectly with the theme, and the high-strength steel body partners with a fully-boxed frame to take on everything a driver can throw at it.

The blue camouflage pattern on the truck’s exterior is called Razzle Dazzle, and it was actually developed more than a century ago. The seemingly simple design creates an optical illusion to hide how fast a boat is actually going, as well as masking the details of its size and shape.

“This Silverado concept is a multipurpose truck that reflects the go-anywhere, do-anything commitment of special-forces teams,” said GM U.S. vice president of Performance Vehicles and Motorsports Jim Campbell.

Besides the camouflage pattern, the Chevy Silverado Special Ops Concept is also outfitted with a narrow LED light bar and blacked-out bowtie emblems. The interior sports Ejector Orange door pulls and glove box opener, and the seats are trimmed with a waterproof covering. Some of the Razzle Dazzle paint scheme makes it onto the armrests and instrument panel.
