Good Housekeeping Names Mazda3 ‘Best Compact’ Car of 2016
Awards just keep pouring in for Mazda, as Good Housekeeping has named the Mazda3 the “Best Compact” car for 2016, as a part of its collaborative project with Car and Driver, the 2016 Best New Car Awards.

An initial list of 160 vehicles was whittled down to 41, spread across the Compact, Sedan, Eco, and Crossover categories, after which engineers from the Good Housekeeping Institute logged 2,000+ miles in each to assess each aspect of the vehicle.
In particular, Good Housekeeping liked the Mazda3’s KODO: Soul of Motion design and MAZDA CONNECT infotainment system, as well as the vehicle’s safety ratings and reliability.
“The sleek KODO design and Mazda’s SKYACTIV Technologies are what differentiates Mazda from other automakers,” said Robert Davis, Senior VP of U.S. Operations, Mazda North American Operations.

Of course, that isn’t all, because although the Mazda3 does come with those, it also includes features like i-ELOOP, a regenerative-braking-style system which enhances fuel economy, as well as i-ACTIVSENSE, which is a whole body of safety technology created specifically to head off accidents before they happen.
The Mazda3 is available in either 4-door sedan or 5-door hatchback configurations, and starts at the low, low price of $16,945 MSRP.
