Google Maps Ms. Pac Man

We made Ms. Pac-Man Run Around Dayton’s Oregon District

It has finally happened. Google, once considered one of the masters of April Fools’ Day, has had to repeat a prank. You read that right, the great minds at one of the world’s largest companies have seemingly ran out of creative things you can do with a map, and instead of ignoring April Fools’ Day they have returned to an old favorite. In 2015, Google turned the streets of your current location into a game of Pac-Man. In 2017, you can play Ms. Pac-Man in any city in the world.

According to The Verge, Android users are saying that they are taken to a random place to play the game, while iOS players can pick where they want to face down the ghosts and gather cherries. We played Ms. Pac-Man on our Windows computers (it’s not wasting time if you write about it later), and it allowed us to pick the exact location of game play.

We shouldn’t be too hard on the minds at Google. They have a lot on their plate right now, with developing driverless car technology, photographing the streets of the world, and secretly working on their master plan to rule the globe. We also have to give them credit for giving Ms. Pac-Man her spot in the limelight, instead of just defaulting to her hungry husband.

It is April Fools’ Day in some parts of the world, but not yet here in the United States, so it’s possible that there are more pranks from Google on the way. We recommend visiting The News Wheel’s home page tomorrow, just in case there’s any news (hint, hint).
