Hans-Jörg Klein Named Ford-Werke GmbH Managing Director of Marketing and Sales

Ford-Werke GmbH has announced the appointment of Hans-Jörg Klein to the Management Board of Ford-Werke GmbH. The appointment will take effect on Sept. 1 and will see have Klein overseeing Marketing and Sales as managing director.

Klein, who has been with Ford since 1991, succeeds Wolfgang Kopplin, who has been Ford-Werke GmbH’s managing director of Marketing and Sales since 2014. Kopplin will remain on in the role until Aug. 31. Kopplin is also the current deputy chairman of the board for Ford-Werke GmbH; Ford did not name a successor.

“We would like to thank Wolfgang for his more than 22 years of service and dedication to Ford. Throughout his career, he has made significant contributions leading to the growth of the business and we wish him all the best,” said Steven Armstrong, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Ford-Werke GmbH and Group Vice President and President of Europe, Middle East, and Africa, Ford Motor Company.

A true car enthusiast and sales strategist with a deep knowledge of trends and technologies, Hans-Jörg is an experienced leader who will help continue to grow the business in the region.”

Klein’s most recent role was director of Sales for Ford of Germany, a position to which he was appointed in February of this year. Prior to that position, he served as Product Marketing Director of Ford Europe, where he oversaw product programs as well as the advancement of electrified and autonomous vehicle development. In his 27 years with Ford, he has served in numerous management roles in Product Development, Manufacturing, Marketing, and Sales.
