Coming to a milk carton near you…

Could everybody, like, stop stealing vintage ’70s-era Corvettes for a little while?

There was the man in Detroit who had to wait 33 years for his stolen 1979 Vette to be found, there was the woman in Georgia whose 1972 Stingray was recently recovered (but not returned), and now a man in Maryland says his 1977 C3 Corvette has disappeared.

Charles Estelle, of York County, Maryland, says that the missing orange 1977 Corvette has been in his family since he was seven. His father gave him the keys when he was a teenager, after the car had quit running, telling him, “if you can fix it, it’s yours.”

Now, Charles is 39 years old, and had just finally begun the restoration process, when the sports car was stolen from the private garage of Corey Bollinger in Paradise Township, Pennsylvania. Bollinger was out of town when the theft occurred, and says that only a few people knew he would be traveling that week.

“It seems very suspicious that it just happened to go missing,” Bollinger said. “It needs to be found.”

Corvette Blogger reports that Lt. David Lash of the Northern York County Regional Police is looking into the crime, but he wouldn’t reveal information about an ongoing investigation.

“I’m hoping somebody’s seen something,” Estelle said. “It’s kind of hard to miss a bright-orange Corvette.”

If you’ve seen a bright orange Corvette on the road, call Northern York County Regional Police at (717) 292-3647.
