HBCU Students Head to Honda Campus All-Star Challenge National Championship
College student competitors from all across America are gearing up for an exciting tournament that will ultimately leave just one national champion standing—and no, we’re not talking about NCAA March Madness here. We’re talking about the slightly less popular Honda Campus All-Star Challenge National Championship, an academic competition for students from America’s Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs).
The road to “the big dance” began in the fall this year, when 76 HBCUs were vying for the final 48 open slots. With a lot of hard work, drills, practice, and study, the “elite teams” were able to take their place in the competition.

“Each student that qualifies for the ‘Great 48’ is a champion in his or her own right,” said Steve Morikawa, American Honda Motor Co.’s Assistant Vice President of Corporate Community Relations. “Honda is proud to welcome this year’s class into an exceptional community of HCASC alumni that comes together each year to celebrate academic excellence.”
