Holden is making preparations for the launch of the new Equinox, which means that there are camouflaged mules roaming around the Outback ensuring that the midsize crossover is up to the task of handling its duties to Australian motorists. Rather than adorn the new Equinox in hum-drum camo wrap, however, Holden has teamed up with actress and musician Natalie Bassingthwaighte and her clothing brand, Chi Khi, for a more artistic touch.

“We’re really excited about the new Equinox, especially now our test vehicles look so great with Natalie’s design,” said Holden Executive Director of Marketing Mark Harland. “Equinox is a brand-new car for Holden, but it’s been kicking goals in North America and winning multiple awards in the process. It’s the perfect vehicle for substance-driven, adventure-seeking families, thanks to its long list of high-tech features and practicality.”

Harland also encouraged any residents or visitors of Melbourne who spot one of the three Equinoxes out on the road to take a photo with it and tag it with the hashtag #HoldenEquinox on social media. Doing so enters them in the running to win a trip for two to Noosa.

“We’ve also embraced the spring Equinox and will be handing out flower posies to commuters as well as installing billboards made of plants that will continue to grow and slowly reveal the car,” added Harland. “It’s quite unique for the industry and a sign of things to come with Equinox.”

Flowers will be handed out at train stations throughout Australia on Friday; the growing plant billboards will go up in Melbourne and Brisbane, while the painted wall advertisement can be found in Sydney.
