Honda and Acura Report Record Sales in April
Today American Honda Motor Company reported record-breaking April sales of 148,829 Honda and Acura vehicles, which accounted for an increase of 14.4% for the month. Year to date, the automaker has sold 506,532 vehicles, an increase of 9.2%.
The Honda Division accounted for 132,623 of the vehicles sold last month, a 15.1% increase that also set a new monthly sales record for the brand. Acura Division sales totaled 16,206 in April, increasing 9% for the month.

Honda enjoyed its best ever April sales results last month and set a new light truck record, while also posting record sales of the all-new Civic and strong Accord sales.
A record 35,331 Civics were sold in April, marking the Civic’s sixth consecutive month of month-over-month sales increases. The Accord, with 31,526 units sold, was close behind in sales, with a 15.7% increase in year-over-year sales.
Honda’s light trucks accounted for 60,372 units sold, with Odyssey minivan sales totaling 13,047 sales and the Pilot boasting sales of 11,370.
“The strong cadence of new Honda cars and light trucks coming to market is clearly resonating with customers,” said Honda executive Jeff Conrad. “With the all-new Ridgeline truck coming to market this summer, we will add another segment to our lineup and further accelerate our strong sales momentum in 2016.”

Acura had a good April, as well, with the RDX (5,905 units sold), the MDX (4,733 units), and TLX (3,779 units) as particular standouts.
“Acura performance sedans and SUVs continue to gain momentum and market share in their segments,” said Acura executive Jon Ikeda. “Our lineup will further strengthen this summer when the restyled and reengineered MDX hits Acura dealerships.”
