Honda Announces Construction of Two New Buildings at Raymond, Ohio Campus

Today Honda that it would be investing $53 million to pay for the construction of two new buildings on its Central Ohio campus. The two new structures will be used to house information technology operations and market quality operations for Honda in North America.

The 38,000-square foot Ohio Data Center will work in conjunction with a similar facility located near Denver, Colorado. Both will be tasked with housing key information technologies for Honda and increasing secure data storage capabilities in North America.

The second building, the 98,000-square foot North American Quality Center, will be used to consolidate operations for several Honda organizations in one location. The North American Quality Center will be used by Honda associates focused on product quality in the marketplace, who will work to increase the company’s capability for studying and responding to customer feedback with greater speed and efficiency.

“Creating a more efficient and effective way for our associates to respond to our customers is the primary goal of our new regional market quality facility,” said Rick Schostek, executive vice president of Honda North America. “The global reliance on data from North America has grown year by year and our new data center will help us manage this responsibility.”

Both of the new facilities will be built in Raymond, Ohio, and are set to be open sometime early next year. Honda says that it worked with local and state government entities on the expansion project, among them Union County, JobsOhio, Columbus 2020, the Ohio Development Services Agency, and the Ohio Department of Transportation.
