After a setback in May, Honda’s sales figures rebounded in June, according to figures that the automaker released today.

Last month, American Honda sold a total of 138,715 Honda and Acura vehicles, representing a 3.2% year-over-year increase and a 2.2% gain for light trucks, setting a new June record with 68,780 light truck sales.

Honda division trucks accounted for 61,469 of those sales, a 6.6% increase, while Honda cars rose 7.7% on sales of 65,894 units.

The all-new 2017 Honda Ridgeline contributed to that success, totaling 2,472 sales after only a little more than a week on the market. The rest of Honda’s truck portfolio, though, did most of the heavy lifting, with the CR-V in particular setting a June record with 29,615 units sold. The Honda Pilot and Odyssey also had strong showings.

On the car side, the 2016 Honda Civic reached close to 32,000 sales, while the Accord lineup (recently expanded by the addition of the 2017 Accord Hybrid) finished a close second with 28,000 units sold.

“With the all new Ridgeline pickup and the redesigned Accord Hybrid back in the lineup, we’re continuing to expand and strengthen our portfolio as we look toward a third straight year of record results,” said Jeff Conrad, senior vice president and general manager of the Honda Division.

It was another tough month for Acura, though, as the luxury brand’s sales declined 26.9% in June on sales 11,352 vehicles. The company remains outwardly positive, though, citing an upcoming summer sales campaign and the 2017 Acura MDX as reasons to be optimistic.

“With initial deliveries of the NSX under way and the redesigned 2017 MDX now hitting showrooms, we’re looking ahead to a strong second half of the year,” said Acura VP Jon Ikeda.
