Honda Canada Foundation donates money to the Stevenson Memorial Hospital Foundation

Today the Honda Canada Foundation announced a $4 million charitable donation to the Stevenson Memorial Hospital Foundation, a hospital located near the Honda of Canada Manufacturing facilities and its more than 4,000 employees.

The generous gift includes $1 million for the purchase of life-saving medical equipment, while the remaining $3 million will go to supporting the complete redevelopment and revitalization of the community hospital.

“Honda of Canada Mfg. first planted roots in the Alliston area more than 30 years ago and was quickly welcomed into the region by the residents, businesses and families that lived there.  Today, our manufacturing facilities employs more then 4,000 associates, who are an important part of this community,” said Bill Easdale, the Senior Vice President of Honda of Canada Manufacturing and Vice Chair of the Honda Canada Foundation.

“At Honda, we strive to be a company that Canadians want to exist.  Supporting our local community hospital with a substantial charitable donation in their time of need is an easy decision and we’re honored to be part of the revitalization plan.”

The Honda Canada Foundation was created to enhance the lives and social well-being of Canadian communities. Both Honda Canada and the Honda Canada Foundation are dedicated to giving back to communities where its customers and employees live and does by providing annual funding to registered charities that focus on issues of family, the environment, engineering, and education.

The Honda Canada Foundation’s $4 million donation to Stevenson Memorial Hospital should jumpstart fundraising efforts to upgrade and expand the facility, which needs to increase in size to keep up with the growing community.
