Five Honda models were recognized in the 2018 Kelley Blue Book Resale Value Awards, which honor the brands and vehicles that deliver the best resale value after three and five years of ownership.

The awards take into account various factors when projecting how well a vehicle will hold its value, including vehicle and sales data, market conditions for each vehicle, expectations of future fuel economy, and competition within vehicle segments.

Four Honda models were ranked at the top of their respective segments while the 2018 Honda Ridgeline was featured in the overall top 10. Notably, the winner in the midsize car segment was none other than the 2018 Honda Accord, the very vehicle that is seemingly winning every other car award in the industry at the moment.

“The all-new 2018 Honda Accord is quickly becoming an awards magnet,” says Kelley Blue Book. “Not only did it win our 2018 Best Buy Award for midsize sedans, it took home the coveted Overall Best Buy trophy as well. And here we are again, handing it yet another trophy.

Joining the Accord were the 2018 Honda Odyssey, Fit, and HR-V, which topped the minivan, subcompact car, and subcompact SUV/crossover categories, respectively. All are expected to retain more than 50% of their value at 36 months and more than 34% of their value at 60 months.

Perhaps more impressive is that it is the fourth year in a row the Fit has claimed Kelley Blue Book’s Best Resale Value Award among subcompacts, which should be of extra importance because the subcompact segment tends to be the one with the most shoppers seeking to save money in the first place.
