Honda makes two kinds of vehicles for the non-American market: the kind that are so awesome we desperately cling to the hope that they’ll one day come to the US (think Civic Type R), and the kind that we have no real need for, but enjoy looking at because they’re super cute and kitschy (think “N/,” or N-Box Slash). This Honda N-TRUCK/N-CAMP belongs to the latter category.

Honda’s turned the N/ into an adorable kei-class pickup truck. The “CAMP” part of the name refers not to the design aesthetic (although it is campy as hell), but rather to the attachable and equally adorable camper.

Like the Mercedes-Benz F015, this vehicle seems as if it’s been created for the sole purpose of conducting mobile job interviews and performance reviews:

Honda made these concepts for the Japan Camping Car Show 2015, which looks like a thoroughly awesome event when translated into broken English by Google:

The Honda N-TRUCK/N-CAMP is unlikely to become a production vehicle in Japan, let alone here in the US, so don’t get your hopes up. Just enjoy it for what it is: a glorious work of kitsch art.
