Honda was one of ten automotive brands to be named in Autotrader’s list of the 10 best non-luxury CPO programs for 2018, and was further cited as being “an obvious choice” by the publication.

The awards recognize the best CPO programs in the nation based on a variety of factors, including the length of the powertrain warranty (with a minimum of six years or 100,000 miles of coverage from the original sale date), their bumper-to-bumper warranty coverage, the deductible amount, available inventory, and transferability to future vehicle owners.

“Beyond being budget friendly, buying a certified vehicle provides an extra level of comfort, knowing your car has been through a rigorous inspection and is backed by the manufacturer for an extended length of time,” said Brian Moody, executive editor for Autotrader. “Sometimes, that warranty is longer than you get with a new car and is certainly better than with a non-certified used car.”

The Honda CPO program’s lack of deductible, easy transferability, and seven-year/100,000-mile coverage, on top of an additional one-year/12,000-mile bumper-to-bumper coverage, were some of the factors that made the brand an “obvious” choice among the editors at Autotrader.

“[Honda] touts excellent coverage that adds peace of mind to the brand’s products, which are already notoriously reliable,” they wrote, before listing all of the company’s aforementioned CPO program perks, which it called “excellent.”

Some of Honda’s most popular CPO vehicles include the Accord, Civic, and Fit passenger cars as well as the CR-V utility vehicle and the Ridgeline pickup truck.
