Honda Odyssey Wins Cabin Tech of the Year Award
The all-new 2018 Honda Odyssey was honored by CNET in the 2018 Roadshow Shift Awards for having some of the best cabin technology in the industry. It earned the “Cabin Tech of the Year” award thanks to features like Magic Slide seats, the CabinWatch day-and-night video monitor, and the CabinTalk in-car PA system.
These innovative and advanced features ensure the Odyssey ranks as the top family-friendly vehicle on the market. “Distracted driving is not a new problem—just ask anyone with small children,” says CNET’s Antuan Goodwin.
“Honda’s CabinWatch allows parents to keep tabs on their kids with a clever second- and third-row camera on the infotainment touchscreen. Not only does the system allow for pinch-to-zoom, it has infrared LEDs for clandestine nighttime viewing.”

Honda’s Magic Slide feature allows you to slide one of the second-row seats from side to side, making it easier for passengers to access the third row and for front row adults to reach behind and assist their child.
CabinWatch provides a top-down view of the second and third row, helping you keep an eye on your family without facing away from the road. It can be viewed through the touchscreen infotainment system and, thanks to infrared LEDs, can even show you what’s going on at night.
Every parent knows how tough it can be to make themselves heard to their children, which is where CabinTalk comes in. It lets you talk directly to passengers in the back via the speaker system and can even override headphones connected to the rear entertainment system.
