SwepsonvilleToday marks the 30th anniversary of operations at Honda Power Equipment Manufacturing’s Swepsonville, North Carolina facility, and the company is celebrating by announcing an $8.5 million capital investment in operations. This huge contribution will fund innovations in production processes and the addition of new products, as well as the creation of an assembly line for Honda’s two-stage snow blowers and generators.

“We are celebrating 30 years of success at Honda Power Equipment Manufacturing because of the everyday hard work of our power product associates in North Carolina,” said Takuji Yamada, Honda COO of North American Regional Operations. “Our founder, Soichiro Honda, believed that we could make people happy through technology. Now, many years later, Honda is still focused on using unique Honda technologies to help people get things done.”

To date, Honda has invested around $250 million into the Swepsonville facility, which employs more than 600 associates.

In 2013, Honda Power Equipment set a company record by exporting more than 400,000 products to overseas markets. All told, the plant has manufactured more than 30 million products for foreign and domestic markets. HPE is the lone production source for all Honda GC and GCV engines and all Honda single-stage snow blowers.
