Honda Product Planner Talks About Acura NSX [VIDEO]
The latest installment of the ongoing “What Makes a Honda is Who Makes a Honda” video series just hit YouTube, and this one is a bit more interesting than most, thanks to its focus on the Acura NSX. No offense to Cynthia Simmons, who seems like a lovely woman, but customer service management just isn’t quite as exciting as a hybrid supercar.
Take a look for yourself:
Los Angeles native Tomo Yokoi acted as the senior product planner for the next-gen Acura NSX, meaning she acted as the “voice of the customer” during the car’s creation, working with teams from R&D, manufacturing, and sales and marketing.
“When I look at the final product, I see a huge team effort, all focused on bringing the best possible experience to our customers,” said Yokoi, who also worked as the product planner for the 2015 Acura TLX.
The video’s other featured Honda associate, James Jenkins, has worked his way up from call center employee to manager of Product Planning for Honda light trucks. That segment includes the all-new Pilot and HR-V SUVs that were introduced this year.
“I’m working on family-oriented products, with safety as the number one focus, but our goal is still to make driving fun,” said Jenkins, who hails from the St. Louis, Missouri area. “Seeing customers smile and seeing them come back to the brand is the greatest reward.”
