2016 Honda Pilot SUV Debut at Chicago Auto Show

The 2016 Honda Pilot debuting at the 2015 Chicago Auto Show

Today Honda released pricing and fuel efficiency details for the 2016 Pilot, with the base model starting at $29,995. The Pilot LX with 2WD and a 6-speed automatic transmission will carry an EPA estimated fuel efficiency slash line of 19/27/22 city/highway/combined mpg.

With destination fees thrown in, the 2016 Pilot will cost $30,875, which is only $125 more than the current 2015 Pilot. It also makes the Pilot cheaper than rival vehicles including the 2015 Ford Explorer ($31,595), 2015 Chevy Traverse ($31,870), 2015 Hyundai Santa Fe ($31,045) and 2015 Dodge Durango ($31,490).

Upgrading to AWD will add $1,800 to the Pilot’s price tag, and lowers mileage estimates to 18/26/21 mpg.

The most expensive trim available is the AWD Pilot Elite with a 9-speed automatic and Navi and Rear Entertainment System, which carries an MSRP of $46,420 and an EPA estimated 19/26/22 mpg.

The most fuel efficient option, meanwhile, is the 2WD Pilot Touring with a 9-speed automatic, which manages a 20/27/23 mpg slash line, and will set SUV buyers back $41,020 (not including $880 destination fee).

The all-new third-generation 2016 Honda Pilot will go on sale next month at Honda dealerships nationwide. For a full list of pricing and mileage information, click here.
