Each year, Consumer Guide puts out its Best Buys in a number of categories, including Automotives.  To do so, the editors test drive over 150 new vehicles, review them, compare them, and pick out the top choices as the guide’s Best Buys in each category, ranging from Subcompact Cars to Sporty/Performance Cars to Large Pickup Trucks.

Honda’s lineup managed to clinch the victory in three separate categories: Compact Pickup Truck, Mid-size Crossover/SUV, and Subcompact Crossover/SUV.

The Honda Ridgeline midsize pickup truck returns for the 2017 model year and will carry a starting MSRP of $29,475

The Compact Pickup Best Buy winner was the Honda Ridgeline, chosen because, as the editors at Consumer Guide wrote, it “offers the best comfort, convenience, and on-road driving dynamics of any small pickup, along with a compelling array of clever technology and utility features.” Specifically, some of what they are referring to is its under-bed trunk, dual-hinged tailgate, and pickup bed speaker system (not to mention you can potentially make it a mobile movie theater).

2017 Honda Pilot Elite

In Mid-size Crossovers, the Honda Pilot snagged the Best Buy title, due to its strong selection of comfort and safety features, finished cabin, large interior capacity, and excellent driving dynamics. One thing the editors specifically noted was that the Pilot is one of the few mid-size SUVs to offer 8 seating positions.

The 2017 Honda HR-V has officially been priced at $19,365 for the base model

Finally, the Honda to snag the title for Subcompact Crossover was the HR-V, which the editors praised for its “excellent cargo room and decent passenger space,” as well as offering “a nice balance between lively handling and a comfortable ride.”
