American Honda reported an 8.2% increase on total sales of 120,440 vehicles for the Honda Division (excluding Acura), setting a new record for November. Though cars only rose a meager 0.9% on sales of 57,459 vehicles, it was once again Honda trucks (including SUVs) that made the biggest gains—they were up a whopping 15.8% on sales of 62,981 vehicles, setting a new record as well.

There were individual highlights too: the Civic and CR-V were both up more than 23% compared to November of last year, the former setting a new record with sales of 31,181 vehicles and the latter earning Motor Trend magazine’s SUV of the year award as it passed the 32,000 mark. Meanwhile, the Pilot saw a 57.2% surge thanks to increased availability (and, again, set a new record).

Arguably the model to come out of November in the best shape was the Honda Accord. Sales remained at a strong 23,000 even as you would have expected them to dip, as the all-new 2018 model is still in the process of reaching dealerships nationwide as production ramps up.

Yet the new Accord has already received numerous awards: it earned The Car Connection’s “2018 Best Car to Buy” award as well as Kelley Blue Book’s “Overall Best Buy” and “Best Auto Tech” awards. Additionally, at the 2017 Los Angeles Auto Show, the Accord was named a finalist for the 2017 North American Car of the Year award and one of Car and Driver magazine’s 10Best—marking its 32nd appearance on the list.
