The tenth-generation Civic has been earning Honda plaudits and sales successes for over a year now, beginning with the 2016 Civic sedan being named the 2016 North American Car of the Year, and continuing with the recent and much-anticipated release of the limited edition 2017 Civic Type R.

And now Honda is giving the Civic’s stable mate, the best-selling Accord, its own ten-gen treatment. Today the Japanese automaker released a concept sketch teasing the aggressive stance and proportion of the all-new, redesigned 2018 Honda Accord, which will make its global debut in Detroit on July 14th.

Fans can watch the tenth-gen Accord’s world premiere via YouTube Livestream (honda.us/2018AccordReveal) at 11:00 am ET.

Earlier this month, the automaker revealed that the upcoming Accord will feature three powerful and fuel-efficient powertrains, including two brand new direct-injected turbo engines, to be paired with either a new Honda-developed 10-speed automatic transmission, CVT, or a six-speed manual transmission. The ten-gen Accord’s powertrain options will also include the next-generation of Honda’s two-motor hybrid powertrain technology.

More details of the Accord’s powertrain performance, along with more design and technology info, will be revealed at the premiere event on July 14th (and, if history is any indicator, will probably be leaked in the weeks and days leading up to the debut).

The Honda Accord has been a mainstay of the midsize sedan market since its launch in 1976, and has been the number one choice of individual American car buyers since 2010. The Accord also holds the distinction of being the first vehicle from a Japanese automaker to be built in America. The vehicle has been in continuous production at Honda’s Marysville, Ohio auto plant since November 1982, with more than 11 million units having been produced there over the last 35 years.
