Suppliers like doing business with Honda Motor Company more than GM, Ford, or Fiat-Chrysler, reports Columbus Business First.

Along with fellow Japanese automaker Toyota Motor Corporation, Honda finished at the top of an annual survey of suppliers by Michigan-based Planning Perspectives Inc.

“One word can explain the difference in supplier relations between Toyota and Honda and the other four automakers: Commitment,” wrote Planning Perspectives president John Henke in the study. “Both are rewarding high-performing suppliers with new or additional business more so than other (original equipment manufacturers).”

Honda earned top grades for its purchasing leader, bureaucracy, and for building trusting relationships with suppliers. It scored a 330 in the survey, representing an impressive jump up from 295 in 2014.

Toyota, meanwhile, narrowly edged Honda out with a score of 336, which improves upon its score of 318 from last year. This marks the fifth straight year that the two have finished first and second in the study.

Toyota’s rival is gaining ground, though.

“If Honda keeps up the pace, it could take over from Toyota next year,” according to the firm.

Honda has previously finished first in 2009 and 2010, and at this rate, is angling for another victory in the year 2015.
